Burges Salmon acts on sale of Axcis Education strengthening SEND recruitment across the UK

We have advised the owner of Axcis Education, a leading supplier of special educational needs and disabilities staff for alternative provision and mainstream schools in England and Wales, on the sale of the business to the Edwin Group, a sector-leading organisation committed to supporting education and improving outcomes for young people.

The deal brings together two purpose-driven organisations to enhance specialist recruitment across the UK education system. The acquisition sees Axcis Education’s expertise in specialist recruitment complement Edwin’s strong portfolio of services, with both businesses now able to partner with more schools, trusts and educators nationwide, to offer innovative solutions where they are needed most.

A cross-disciplinary group of lawyers from Burges Salmon acted for Axcis Education and its owner alongside Gambit Corporate Finance. Our team was led by director Tim Roberts and associate Tom Curnow from the firm’s Corporate M&A team. They were supported, on the tax side, by director Silvana Van der Velde and solicitor Amy Briscoe and, on the commercial side, by director Madelin Sinclair McAusland and solicitors Abbie McGregor and Victoria McCarron.
