Burges Salmon advises Magnera on sale of its Caerphilly operations

Large rolls of aluminium sheet being processed on industrial machinery in a factory

We have advised Magnera Corporation on the sale of its Caerphilly operations to leading specialist coating and film manufacturer Polyart Group, which is owned by Prudentia Capital.

Magnera is a NYSE-listed global materials company headquartered in the United States, serving more than 1,000 customers worldwide across a broad range of sectors, including hygiene products, protective apparel and construction applications.

The Caerphilly business produces metallised paper used in a range of end market applications, including premium labels, gift wrap and food packaging. The transaction follows a strategic portfolio review by Magnera of its manufacturing technologies, products and markets.

The team was led by Corporate and M&A partner Julie Book and director Amy Moriarty supported by solicitor Shaaf Alam and trainee solicitor Matthew Pegler as well as other specialists from across the firm.

We are grateful and appreciative for the support from the Burges Salmon team throughout this transaction. The passion and capabilities of our teams enabled a successful outcome for a complex transaction.”

Dustin Heslep, Vice President, Corporate Development – Magnera

We are delighted to have supported Magnera on this transaction. The deal is an important step in delivering on Magnera’s strategic priorities, and it has been a pleasure working alongside the Magnera team to deliver a successful outcome.”

Amy Moriarty, Director

This deal adds to the firm’s extensive experience in the energy storage market, where we continue to support developers, investors and funders on projects that underpin the UK’s transition to a lower-carbon energy system.
