The firm has advised the National Wealth Fund on its £50 million equity investment in AMP Clean Energy, a transaction that will accelerate the deployment of low-carbon energy infrastructure across the UK.
The deal sees NWF partner with Asterion Industrial Partners to support AMP’s next phase of growth, strengthening local energy networks through flexible battery storage and advancing the decarbonisation of hard-to-abate industrial sectors.
The Burges Salmon team was led by Corporate and M&A partner Danny Lee, alongside senior associate Katie Carter and solicitor Jenny Purcell.
AMP Clean Energy’s innovative Battery Box technology enables energy storage close to demand centres such as homes, schools and hospitals, providing essential flexibility to the grid. The investment will also scale AMP’s low-carbon heating solutions, helping businesses transition away from fossil fuels.
“We’re proud to have supported the National Wealth Fund on this landmark investment. AMP Clean Energy’s work is a vital part of the UK’s clean energy transition, and this deal will help deliver meaningful impact across communities and industry.”
Katie Carter, senior associate
