Senior Pursuits Manager

  • Category: Business professional

Are you at your best when shaping high-stakes bids, where clarity of thinking, strong collaboration and thoughtful challenge lead to better outcomes?

We're looking for a Senior Pursuits Manager to take a leading role in the firm's most strategic client opportunities and complex tenders. This is a new headcount, reflecting continued growth and investment in our pursuits capability.

You don't need to come from a legal background to succeed here. We welcome people with experience across different sectors who bring strong judgement, curiosity and a track record of influencing at a senior level within high-performing, quality-driven environments.

In this role, you will work closely with partners, lawyers and business services colleagues to shape compelling, client propositions. You will bring structure and direction to complex opportunities, helping teams focus on what matters most and consistently raising the quality of our approach.

What you'll be doing

You will lead on the firm's most strategic bids and tenders, guiding opportunities from early positioning through to submission and presentation. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will help define the overall pursuit strategy, drawing on insight, experience and sound judgement to strengthen our approach.

You will take a hands-on role in developing clear, persuasive submissions, while also challenging and influencing stakeholders constructively to improve the end product. You will anticipate risks, manage competing priorities and maintain momentum across multiple opportunities, ensuring that teams stay aligned and focused.

Alongside delivery, you will act as a key deputy to the Head of Pursuits, contributing to the direction of the function, representing the team in senior forums, and helping to embed best practice across the firm. You will also support the development of others through coaching, training and day-to-day guidance, helping to build capability and confidence across both the pursuits team and wider colleagues.

You will play an important role in driving continuous improvement, bringing ideas to refine how we work, strengthen our approach and make it easier for teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who is comfortable operating at a senior level, with the credibility to influence and challenge constructively. You are likely to have experience leading complex bids or strategic proposals, with a strong understanding of what drives successful outcomes.

You will be a confident communicator, able to turn detailed input into clear, compelling and client-focused messaging. You will bring strong organisational skills and the ability to stay focused and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.

Just as importantly, you will be collaborative in your approach, resilient when working through challenges, and motivated by helping others perform at their best. Experience of coaching or developing others would be beneficial, as would an interest in improving processes and ways of working.

Why this role?

This is an opportunity to take on a visible, influential role within a growing team, working on opportunities that shape the future of the firm. As a newly created position, it offers the scope to bring your own perspective, contribute to how the function evolves and make a tangible impact from day one.

You'll be part of a collaborative, high-performing environment where people support each other, share ideas and take pride in producing work of a consistently high standard.
