The Pensions team at independent UK law firm Burges Salmon has launched its latest update to its Triage Tool in respect of UK Pensions for International Companies. The tool has been updated to reflect the new Funding and Investment Strategy Regulations and is available free by request (link below). This updated addition to our pensions Triage Tools is published following our previous award winning ESG Tool and our Pensions Moral Hazard powers. The New Regulations include important provisions on:

  1. Funding and investment strategy in connection with the long-term needs of schemes
  2. New express provisions in respect of reviewing employer covenant
  3. Taking into account the maturity of schemes

The tool, which the firm’s Pensions Team has made free to access online by request, provides a 64 page interactive summary guide for the international business community to understand more about UK pensions including:

  1. New regulatory powers
  2. Scheme funding
  3. Buy out and de-risking
  4. Notifiable events

Employers can use the interactive guide to understand the possible implications in connection with UK pensions for a wide range of events, including M&A activity, the payments of dividends and restructuring.
