Burges Salmon’s energy sector specialists have advised ERG on the sale of BWFL to Greencoat for a total consideration of c.£163m.

At 47.5MW capacity, the 19 turbine Brockaghboy wind farm project is one of the largest operational wind farms in Northern Ireland.

Corporate partner Camilla Usher-Clark led on the transaction. The team advised on all English and Northern Irish legal aspects of the deal, which completed 7 March 2018.

The wind farm is located approximately 30 miles east of Londonderry in Northern Ireland. Since February 2016, when ERG acquired BWFL from TCI Renewables Limited, ERG and TCI have worked together to construct, commission and accredit the largest distinct wind farms in Northern Ireland. The wind farm, which was fully commissioned in February 2018, is accredited to receive 0.9 ROCs per MWh.
