The Corporate team at independent UK law firm Burges Salmon has advised Legatics, a legal transaction management software provider, on a £3 million investment from Mobeus.

Legatics’ platform, designed by lawyers to improve legacy working methods and solve practical transactional issues, simplifies and automates traditional legal processes by enabling deal teams to collaborate on transactions and bring them to completion in an interactive online environment.

The growth financing is set to support Legatics with developing new features for its platform, driving its customer acquisition and broadening the range of practice areas in which it operates. The company is aiming to double its headcount over the next 18 months.

The Burges Salmon team advising on the transaction was led by director Alex Lloyd with support from solicitors Elena Kaltsas and Guinevere Wentworth.

Anthony Seale, Legatics CEO, comments: “We are all passionate about the opportunity to make legal transactions more transparent and efficient. This funding and partnership from Mobeus validates the significant opportunity to scale up the team as well as really accelerate product development with new features and use cases and bring the platform to a more global audience.

“We have had an excellent experience working with Alex and the Burges Salmon team to bring this transaction to a close with Mobeus. We really felt like Alex took time to understand what terms would be important to us and worked really hard at every stage to make that happen.”

Alex adds: “It was a pleasure to work with the Legatics team on this investment from Mobeus which will support the company in its next phase of growth and its exciting plans for the future.”
