Burges Salmon has advised the selling shareholders of Pukka Herbs, the maker of organic herbal teas and supplements, on the sale of the business to Unilever.

Dominic Davis, together with senior associates Tim Roberts and Julie Book, led a large cross firm team advising the shareholders alongside Shaw & Co.

Pukka Herbs is joining Unilever in a deal that gives it new levels of global opportunity and ethical and environmental influence around the world.

Bristol-based Pukka Herbs began in 2001, its mission to connect people through the power of plants and herbs for healthier living and a healthier planet. Sixteen years later, Pukka is the fastest growing organic tea company in the world; 1.5 billion Pukka teas have been enjoyed, each made with 100% certified organic and ethically traded ingredients. Pukka and Unilever share a vision for a business model that changes the world for good, with people and planet at its heart.

Dominic Davis says: "We are very proud to have been able to work with such a successful local business. This transaction marks a significant milestone for Pukka and it has been fantastic to work with Tim, Sebastian and their team to see the deal through to completion. We wish them all the best and will watch with interest as Pukka develops further."

Tim Westwell, co-founder at Pukka Herbs, comments: "We have really enjoyed working with Dom, Tim, Julie and the entire Burges Salmon team. Their support and commitment helped us reach this important stage in Pukka’s growth."
