Energy sector experts from Burges Salmon have advised The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) in relation to the £44.5m project financing of NTR plc’s Quixwood Moor Wind Farm in Scotland.

Construction of the 13 turbine 26.65MW project will start in Q2 2016 and is scheduled for completion by November 2016.

The Burges Salmon team, led by Energy and Utilities sector finance partner Nathan Curtis, advised RBS in its role as agent, security agent and original lender to the project. The team included lawyers from a range of teams from across the firm including specialists from its Banking, Energy, Construction, Real Estate and Planning units.

Nathan Curtis said: “We are delighted to have assisted long-standing client RBS and its client NTR on this project. It took a real team effort from all parties and their advisers to drive this transaction to financial close. This deal demonstrates that our lender-side project finance practice continues to go from strength-to-strength in both construction financing and operational refinancing transactions in the renewables sector."

Gauri Kasbekar-Shah, Director, Structured Finance, at RBS said: "We very much saw you as an extension of the RBS team and thank you for getting us over the line.”
