These promotions reflect the firm’s continued growth in a range of key sectors and specialisms including Intellectual Property, Healthcare, Energy & Infrastructure, Public Procurement, Restructuring & Insolvency, and Defence.

These May 2021 partner promotions continue the progress made over recent years by the firm in improving its gender balance in senior leadership roles in line with the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion strategy.

The appointment of these five new partners, three of whom trained at the firm, brings the firm’s total number of partners to 99 as of 1 May 2021 and further emphasises Burges Salmon’s ongoing focus on client delivery and exceptional service.

Banking and Finance

Victoria Allsopp specialises in project finance with a particular focus on energy (renewables, including wind, solar, gas and waste) and infrastructure projects. These two promotions take the firm’s Banking and Finance team to eight partners in total, with a 50:50 partner gender balance.

Also from the firm’s Dispute Resolution team, new partner Richard Binns advises private and public sector clients on commercial disputes and is experienced in all stages of litigation and alternative dispute resolution.
