Overview

Eilidh qualified as a solicitor in Scotland in 2018. She joined Burges Salmon in January 2021.

Eilidh's broad experience includes advising both employers and employees on contentious and non-contentious employment law issues covering the full lifecycle of the employment relationship, as well as regularly providing employment expertise in connection with corporate transactions.

Eilidh has particular experience in conducting employment tribunal litigation in both Scotland and England, ranging from unfair dismissal claims through to more complex discrimination and whistleblowing claims, as well as equal pay claims. Eilidh has experience conducting advocacy at all stages of Tribunal proceedings, including attendance at judicial mediation.

She is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.

Experience
  • Acting for a major national retailer in employment tribunal litigation, including defending claims of unfair dismissal and discrimination.
  • Providing regular HR advice on a range of employment law issues for a FTSE-100 defence and security group, as well as acting for the group in employment tribunal litigation, including in respect of a complex jurisdictional claim.
  • Acting for a public sector organisation in connection with claims of equal pay and discrimination.
  • Providing advice on employment matters to a variety of different businesses including in respect of senior exits, redundancies, TUPE issues, and the management of disciplinary/grievance procedures.
  • Drafting various employment and HR-related contractual and policy documentation.
  • Providing employment support in connection with corporate and commercial transactions.
