Overview

As a senior associate within the corporate team, Gregory advises clients in the public and private sectors on a wide range of corporate law and corporate finance issues. He acts for both buyers and sellers on private company mergers and acquisitions, as well as on joint venture arrangements and corporate reorganisations. 

Gregory has a particular expertise in advising public sector clients on corporate governance, corporate finance and joint ventures, both at national and local government levels. His private sector experience has focused on work with international clients looking to invest in the UK through acquisitions of UK businesses.  He also advises on private sector corporate governance and group reorganisations.  Gregory has provided training on corporate law issues such as directors' duties to a range of clients.

 
Experience
  • Advised the Ministry of Defence on early-stage aspects of the proposed joint venture arrangements for the Future Combat Aircraft System project.
  • Advised for the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy on the high value and complex transfer of assets from the UK's seven research councils, Innovate UK and the higher education research functions of HEFCE to the new UK Research and Innovation body. This was undertaken using a statutory transfer scheme pursuant to the Higher Education and Research Act 2017.
  • Advised Bristol City Council on the innovative City Leap joint venture project aimed at developing a low carbon infrastructure for the City of Bristol.
  • Advised ALTEN Group on its acquisition of various UK businesses, most recently Methods Group.
  • Advised Paris headquartered Louis Capital Markets on the sale of its brokerage business to TP ICAP.
  • Advised Lithuania-based Avia Solutions Group on its acquisitions of a number of UK businesses in the aviation sector.
  • Advised Pula Aviation in Guernsey on its acquisitions of Bristol Flying Centre and Airpart Supply.
  • Advised Sun Mark International on the sale of the Sun Mark FMCG business.
  • Advised the Department for the Environment, Food & Rural Affairs on the establishment of the Office for Environmental Protection.
  • Advised HM Revenue & Customs on an internal transformation project.
  • Advised UK Research & Innovation on the sale of the Vaccines Manufacturing and Innovation Centre.
  • Advised Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water on the acquisition of an anaerobic digestion plant from Kelda Water Services.
