Overview

After completing her training contract with the firm, Myra qualified into the Private Client and Wealth Structuring team.

She specialises in advising high net worth and ultra-high net worth international individuals on a range of private client and immigration work, including:

  • UK tax planning
  • Succession planning
  • Disclosures to HMRC
  • Visas under the Points Based System and family visas
  • Indefinite Leave to Remain and naturalisation
  • Applications for EEA nationals and their family members

Myra is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and has completed the STEP Diploma in Tax and Estate Planning (England and Wales). She is a regular contributor to Lexology and has written for the Tax Journal.

Myra is a member of the Immigration Law Practitioners' Association (ILPA) and is a co-convenor for the ILPA South West working group. She is fluent in Cantonese and speaks Mandarin to a high level.

The Chambers and Partners High Net Worth Guide 2022, 2023 and 2024 named Myra as one of the Associates to Watch for immigration. She is also listed as one of the key lawyers in a Tier 1 Immigration Team on Legal 500.

  • Advising EEA nationals and their family members on their UK immigration status and the available options in light of Brexit.  
  • Advising individuals from the Commonwealth countries on British citizenship.
  • Advising many clients, including Chinese and Russian families, in obtaining Tier 1 (Investor) visas, extension, Indefinite Leave to Remain and naturalisation.
  • Assisting individuals in the United States of America to obtain UK spouse visa. 
  • Representing individuals on HMRC disclosures in relation to offshore assets and liabilities under the Requirement to Correct.
  • Providing advice to a Singaporean individual in relation to the validity of a UK trust in the context of matrimonial proceedings.
  • Drafting UK Wills for individuals with assets in the UK and other jurisdictions.
