Patrick specialises in public procurement law and commercial projects, with a focus in the healthcare sector. He trained with Burges Salmon and qualified in 2009.

In the healthcare sector, Patrick advises independent health and social care providers, medical equipment suppliers other providers of non-medical goods and services to the NHS and other purchasers. During his time at Burges Salmon, Patrick has worked on secondment with the in-house legal team at leading national provider of healthcare services to the NHS.

Patrick also has extensive experience of advising on procurement law and contract matters in the aviation, defence, energy and technology sectors.

He is a regular writer of articles on procurement law and a member of the Procurement Lawyers Association.

  • Advising the Department for Education in relation to the establishment of two children’s social care trusts in Doncaster and in Slough – the first models of this nature in the UK.  
  • Patrick spent five months working as part of the in-house legal team at Virgin Care, advising on a range of commercial contract and procurement law matters.
  • Advising an international procurement agent on its bid strategy to support the Department of Health's fund for fighting antimicrobial resistance in 25 countries.
  • Advising Cobalt Health, a leading provider of PET/CT scanning services, on its service agreements and lease arrangements with NHS and third party providers.
  • Advising Foreign and Commonwealth Office Services in relation the procurement of translation and interpretation services for the British government.
  • Other clients include Babcock, FirstGroup, Ministry of Defence, Department for Transport and the Environment Agency.
