Overview

Richard is head of the firm's banking team. He has a broad based practice that covers corporate banking and real estate finance and securitisations.

Richard regularly acts for the majority of UK clearing banks and, in addition, advises debt funds (such as DRC Capital and ICG Longbow) and  investment banks (such as Bayern LB).

In addition to lender work, Richard advises various borrowers (including National Express Group Plc).

Richard is a qualified in England and Wales and Scotland.

Experience
  • Advising National Express Group Plc in relation to a £450 million revolving Credit Facility.
  • Advising a private bank on various capital raisings including subordinated debt and quasi crowdfunding structures.
  • Advising HSBC and Bank Leumi in relation to £125 million facility to Audley Retirement.
  • Advising Lloyds Banking Group in relation to a £50 million facility to fund the acquisition of a serviced office business for assets in England and Scotland.
  • Advising HSBC on providing significant debt funding to a joint venture between Kier Developments and various housing associations for residential developments across the UK.
  • Advising Helaba as lender on the financing of a trophy office in Glasgow and a newly completed development in Manchester.
  • Advising Metlife on acquisition finance provided to a Luxembourg entity for the acquisition of a BVI company owning a prime London office building.
  • Advising HSBC in providing the debt funding for a 1000 unit residential development in East London.
