Overview

Ross is a partner in the firm’s real estate team.

He is a leading lawyer in both Chambers Guide to the Legal Profession and Legal 500 and leads a team of lawyers who advise developers, investors, funders and the public sector on sustainable regeneration projects (often in joint venture).

Ross sits on the UK Green Building Council’s Task Force on achieving net zero in new commercial buildings and is helping to develop the route map to net zero for the built environment sector. He is the firm’s lead for net zero in the built environment.

Experience
  • Advising St Modwen on multiple projects through the UK. In particular, advising on its joint venture with Homes England to develop Locking Parklands - a new 1,450 home community with retail space, a new school and 450,000 sq ft of high quality business space.
  • Advising St Modwen on the development and letting of many of its industrial parks, including Access 18 in Avonmouth.
  • Advising a confidential developer on a major mixed use development of over 3,000 homes and related infrastructure.
  • Advising Skanska of the letting and sale of a number of its developments in the UK, including 66 Queen Square in Bristol (an office development let to KPMG and Handelsbanken and sold to Aviva).
  • Advising Stevenage Borough Council on its joint venture with Mace to redevelop Stevenage town centre, a £350m town centre regeneration project.
  • Advising the University of Bristol on the land elements of its new £350m campus adjoining Bristol Temple Meads.
  • Advising a funder on the real estate aspects of a loan to develop a new 24,000 sq ft arena in Manchester.
