Silvana Van der Velde Director

Silvana is a director in the firm’s Corporate Tax team.

Silvana has extensive experience in the area of corporate tax, primarily within the private equity sector.  She specialises in transactional tax and provides advice to a diverse range of clients including investors, corporates, and management teams. Her areas of expertise cover a broad spectrum of M&A, structuring, and advisory tax matters, encompassing both domestic and international contexts.

Qualified in Scots law, Silvana is a Chartered Tax Adviser and member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation.

Experience gained at previous firms includes:

• advising private equity funds, corporate groups, and management teams on mergers and acquisitions
• advising on the purchase of a European based business division out of a large multinational group
• advising on structuring of corporate transactions including pre-sale reorganisations
• providing the UK specific tax advice in a large multinational restructuring of three separate JV groups with one common JV partner
• advising a UK based group on the carve out of a division into a separate subsidiary including the granting of IP licences between the entities
• advising on the demerger of a property business from a trading group in advance of the listing of the trading group
• advising management teams, corporate groups and investors on the implementation of management incentive plans both in a UK and international context
• advising on the tax implications for businesses of a globally mobile workforce.
