About

Carol is a member of Burges Salmon’s senior leadership team for Legal Operations. She heads up the firm’s knowledge and information function, leading on legal and regulatory knowledge management (KM) and business information for the firm and value-added services for clients.

Using insights from industry networks and events such as KM Legal (Europe) 2023 and the international Strategic Knowledge & Innovation Legal Leaders’ Summit 2024, Carol provides KM best practice support for clients keen to gain value from their own knowledge and information.

She coordinates the firm’s Knowledge and Information Services team, professional support lawyers and heads of business services collaboration meetings. She also works with the firm’s KM and learning and development partners to ensure efficient, effective access to knowledge, information and expertise to support client service delivery.

Experience

  • Collaborating with client partners and business professional colleagues to develop best practice tools and processes to help legal teams scope and deliver effective value-added support for their clients.
  • Running a cross-firm programme to deliver Burges Salmon’s triple UKAS-accredited certification for ISO 27001, 22301 and 9001 in 2018 to meet key client requirements.
  • Leading a cross-disciplinary team to deliver the firm’s new iManage ‘Knowledge Unlocked’ and insights system in 2023 in order to enhance access to the firm’s gold standard know-how and expertise and build firm foundations for cloud and Gen AI developments.
