Catherine is a partner in the International Private Client team where she specialises in international tax, trusts and estate planning advice for a wide range of clients, from high net worth individuals to leading private banks and other financial institutions.

She has particular expertise in advising South African clients and is recognised as a South African expert in Chambers. Catherine also heads up the Charity and Philanthropy team.

  • South Africans: Advising on pre-immigration planning, including the UK tax consequences for offshore or local South African trusts they may have established.
  • Trustees: Advising on likely risk areas including fiduciary, tax, compliance and reputational risk associated with acting as trustee of complex structures.
  • Trustees: Advising on their UK tax and reporting obligations arising from the administration of offshore trusts with UK connections such as UK resident settlors, beneficiaries or UK assets.
  • Philanthropy: Advising on all areas of philanthropy including establishing and running private charitable foundations.
