About

Charlotte is a senior associate in the firm’s Projects team. Her broad ranging practice is centred around the net zero, energy and sustainable transport sectors.

In the energy space, she regularly advises developers, investors, funders, energy consumers and others on all aspects of power and grid contracting, joint development arrangements and regulatory issues in connection with the generation and supply of electricity and associated benefit / subsidy regimes.

Charlotte also has significant experience acting for transport operators, government and other public sector organisations on rail, bus and other transport projects including advising on operational contracts, rolling stock procurement and franchising issues.

She brings together her experience across the energy and transport sectors to advise clients on transport decarbonisation and electrification projects, including advising on the installation and operation of EV charging infrastructure, procurement and funding of EV fleets, and wider issues relating to the electricity supply and grid connections underpinning charging infrastructure.

Experience

  • FirstGroup: Advising on a joint venture with Hitachi in relation to the acquisition, deployment and management of up to 1,000 electric bus batteries as part of its ambitious decarbonisation strategy.
  • Atrato: Advising on an innovative corporate power purchase structure with Britvic and Squeaky Clean Energy which delivers renewable energy to the corporate consumer on a baseload basis.
  • Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and Alcemi: Advising on optimisation arrangements for a 500 MW / 1000 MWh battery storage project, set to be one of the largest in Europe.
  • NextEnergy: Advising on a number of corporate power purchase agreements, covering both physical and virtual settlement arrangements, across NextEnergy’s solar portfolio.
  • First Bus: Advising on a pilot EV charging project commercialising charging infrastructure in depots by allowing third party fleets to access facilities during periods of low usage.
