About

Christopher joined the firm in 2005 having previously worked for a number of years as a real estate lawyer in Scotland. He is part of a dedicated team of dual qualified lawyers working in Scottish real estate, and is qualified to work in Scotland as well as England and Wales.

Specialising in complex and large scale cross-border transactions often with a funding, investment or development angle, Christopher utilises his experience to advise on the built environment. He has a particular interest in infrastructure and ports projects. He is also a specialist in real estate finance and insolvency matters, and has a specialism in LPA Receiverships.

He is also responsible for the real estate’s water team, and has developed guidance and products to help our water sector clients deliver interventions and infrastructure under the Water Industry Act.

Experience

  • Border to Coast: Advised the Border to Coast Pensions Partnership on the launch of a £1.2 billion UK real estate fund.
  • Severn Trent Water: Advising on the installation of SUDs schemes and other interventions under the Water Industry Act as part of the Mansfield Project in a scheme with a capital investment value of £76 million.
  • Pandox: Advising on the financing and acquisition of the highly sought after Hilton Hotel in Belfast in a deal worth £40 million.
  • Funding Syndicate: Acting for the lead funder for a syndicate of four leading banks providing finance facilities in excess of £200 million secured against commercial developments and investment properties across the UK.
  • Ferry Operators: Advising a number of world class operators on their relocation from existing port terminals.
  • Affinity Water: Advising Affinity Water on their acquisition of Sundon Reservoir
