Overview

Emily is a senior associate in the firm's Dispute Resolution team, having trained with the firm and qualified in September 2017. She has experience in core litigation, but primarily focuses on Real Estate Disputes. Emily works with her colleagues to help clients arrive at the right solution to their issue, minimising impact and maximising success. She is supported by our extensive dispute resolution practice with a proven track record in the highest-profile cases and cross-border, multi-sector expertise.

Emily is a member of both Women in Property and the Property Litigation Association, and sits on the Junior Property Litigation Association South West Committee.

 
Experience
  • Acting for the successful defendant in Bate v Affinity Water Ltd [2019] EWHC 3425 (Ch), a case concerning the legal basis of the presence of a water main, involving acquisition of easements by prescription and exercise of statutory powers;
  • Advising a number of high street retailers in relation to the asset management of their property portfolios;
  • Advising a utility company in relation to telecoms issues arising from their property portfolio; and
  • Advising a local authority in relation to a number of real property issues, including restrictive covenants, trespass and adverse possession / right of way disputes.
