Emily is a senior associate in the Real Estate Disputes team, having joined the firm in 2013. She advises clients on a wide range of contentious real estate issues, including commercial landlord and tenant disputes, development disputes and real property issues. Her increasing focus is advising clients in relation to energy, power or utility related property disputes, and telecoms.

Experience

  • Public body: Advising on the right to terminate a £multi-million development agreement due to a breach of the developer’s contractual obligations.
  • Developer consortium: Advising a consortium of developer clients in relation to potential restrictive covenants and easements that would affect the development of a new garden village in the UK.
  • Statutory water undertaker: Acting for a statutory water undertaker in a claim relating to a pipe strike which affected water supply to customers in its region.
  • Telecoms: Acting for a statutory water undertaker on Upper Tribunal proceedings issued by an operator for the renewal of telecoms mast agreements at strategic areas of land.
  • National developer: Advising a national developer in relation to the liabilities / assets it holds across its UK wide property portfolio.
  • Local council: Advising a local council in relation to a potential restrictive covenant that could impact its ability to construct and offer a low carbon district heating project to its local homes and buildings.
