About

Evelyn is a solicitor in the Employment team, having completed her training contract at the firm in September 2026.

She advises employers on a broad range of employment and workforce issues, supporting clients across both contentious and non-contentious matters. Her experience includes Employment Tribunal litigation, workplace investigations, disciplinary and grievance processes, employment aspects of corporate transactions, data subject access requests, and the drafting and negotiation of settlement agreements. She regularly works with clients to manage employment disputes and complex workplace issues in a practical and commercially focused way.

Evelyn joined Burges Salmon in 2022 as a Paralegal before completing her training contract with the firm. During her training, she gained experience across Dispute Resolution, Tax and Trusts, Competition, Banking and Finance, and Employment, giving her a broad understanding of the legal and commercial challenges faced by businesses across a variety of sectors.

She holds a first-class degree in Law with Politics from Queen Mary University of London and completed the LLM Legal Practice at the University of Law, passing both SQE1 and SQE2 at the first attempt. Evelyn is also an active member of BBalanced, the firm’s gender-balance network.

Experience

• Employment Tribunal litigation: Acting for a national retailer in defending a range of complex Employment Tribunal claims, including unfair and wrongful dismissal and discrimination.
• Negotiated exits and termination: Advising employers on exit strategies and termination processes, including the drafting and negotiation of settlement agreements.
• Data subject access requests: Assisting employers with the management and response to data subject access requests from current and former employees.
