About

Gary is head of the firm’s Planning and Compulsory purchase team. He specialises in major planning applications, infrastructure agreements (including section 106 agreements), compulsory purchase and compensation (including advocacy), and highway aspects of development.

He is a legal associate of the Royal Town Planning Institute and a Higher Court Advocate, and is also Chair of the Welsh Compulsory Purchase Association

Experience

  • Isle of Anglesey County Council: Assisting the Council on its Energy Island Programme and major developments including proposals for a new nuclear power station at Wylfa, the proposed Anglesey Freeport and the Morlais Tidal Demonstration Zone TWAO.
  • North Somerset Council: Advising on a number of highway projects including the planning application and related CPOs and SRO in connection with the proposed Banwell Bypass.
  • Kent County Council: Advising on the Otterpool Park, the proposed new 9,000 house garden village near Folkestone in Kent.
  • Canal and River Trust: Advising on a CPO and compensation issues for a major residential-led mixed use development scheme in SW London.
  • Gloucestershire County Council: Advising the Council on the promotion of a Development Consent Order for improvements to Junction 10 of the M5 motorway and associated development.
