Giovanni is an associate in our Construction and Engineering team, with a varied practice in both contentious and non-contentious matters, giving him broad exposure to the challenges faced by his clients. He has a particular focus on the energy and utilities sectors.
He regularly advises on a wide range of construction and engineering contracts (JCT, NEC, IChemE and FIDIC) including EPC, O&M, PFI and FM agreements.
Experience
- Hinkley Point C: Negotiation of the construction elements of an agreement for lease for a strategically important new rebar facility at Avonmouth.
- Sizewell C: Advice and assistance on the negotiation of various multi-million pound key equipment contracts involving specialist international contractors.
- Defence sector client: Advising in relation to a NEC4 Facilities Management Contract for the delivery of facilities management services at the client’s new HQ.
- Redrow Homes: Advising on a strategic framework agreement for the procurement of highways works and services as part of a residential led, mixed use, development of approximately 900 acres for up to 7,000 homes.
- Nuclear client: Advising in relation to disputes under a series of parent company guarantees, guaranteeing obligations under nuclear decommissioning construction and engineering contracts, the highest value contract being more than £160 million.
- Oil and gas client: Advising a client in the off-shore oil and gas sector in a cross-border dispute relating to claims for delays and defects against its supply only subcontractor with a subcontract value of more than $3.25 million.
