About

Hamish is a partner in the Commercial & Technology team, based in the London office. He specialises in UK and EU data protection law, and leads the firm’s privacy and data practice.

He advises across the full spectrum of privacy and data protection matters, including compliance, breaches, data subject access requests (DSARs), CCTV operations, AI regulation and cyber security. He also acts as Data Protection Officer for a number of global retail clients.

His clients range across all sectors, but with a particular focus on technology, financial services, energy, retail and consumer businesses.

Hamish has experience across numerous jurisdictions around the world, including Japan, the US and numerous European countries. He previously spent several years as co-head of the US office of an international law firm.

Experience

• DPO Services: Significant experience as a Data Protection Officer for numerous businesses, including a pharmaceutical, a supermarket and several major retailers.
• Data Breach Management: Advised in respect of numerous data breaches in the UK, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Japan and Switzerland.
• Audit & Compliance: Undertook a major privacy audit and remedial project for a international technology business in the transport sector.
• Marketing: Advised household names in the telecommunications and automotive sector on the privacy aspects of marketing campaigns and initiatives.
