About

Hannah is an associate in the firm’s Real Estate Dispute Resolution team. She trained and qualified at Charles Russell Speechlys before moving to Burges Salmon in March 2023.

She advises on a range of contentious real estate issues, involving both commercial and residential property, including landlord and tenant matters, such as lease renewals, possession claims, trespass, rent arrears, service charge disputes, breach of covenant, dilapidations and rent reviews.

She has particular experience in advising developers, landlords and occupiers in relation to defective cladding and building safety issues under the Building Safety Act 2022, and also advises in relation to insolvency disputes and disputes relating to the Electronic Communications Code.

Hannah acts for a variety of clients across sectors, including institutional, commercial and residential landlords and tenants, financial institutions, utility companies, leaseholder associations, right to manage companies and government departments.

She is a member of the Property Litigation Association.

Experience

  • Leaseholder association: Acting for a leaseholder association in relation to tribunal proceedings and successfully obtaining a remediation order against the landlord, requiring it to carry out significant cladding works to a high-rise residential building in London.
  • London Underground Limited and Places for London Limited: Acting for London Underground Limited and Places for London Limited to obtain an urgent High Court possession order against persons unknown or trespassers at short notice.
  • Tritax Big Box REIT Plc: Advising Tritax Big Box REIT Plc in relation to asset management issues across the UK’s largest logistics warehouse portfolio.
  • Large retail occupier: Successfully settling through arbitration, rent review proceedings relating to the London headquarters of a large retail occupier.
  • International investment bank: Advising an international investment bank in relation to asset management issues across its UK office portfolio.
  • Pennon Group: Advising on Pennon Group’s portfolio of third-party telecoms masts sites within its regulated property portfolio, including on a number of tribunal proceedings.
