Helen is an associate in the firm’s Pensions and Lifetime Savings team.
Her wide range of experience includes advising pension scheme trustees and companies on a broad range of pensions legal issues, including projects such as mergers and PIE exercises, and the day-to-day running of pension schemes, including advising on the interpretation of scheme documentation, member queries, scheme governance and the exercise of trustee discretions.
She has a particular interest in pension liability buy-in and buy-out projects and has advised on a large number of risk transfer projects, including working extensively on the firm’s streamlined buy-in proposition with Willis Towers Watson.
Helen co-hosts and co-founded ‘The Burges Salmon Pensions Pod’, a podcast which considers topical issues, the latest pensions news and insights and practical tips to help trustees and employers navigate the ever-changing pensions landscape.
She is a keen public speaker, including having chaired an Early Career Professionals event for the Society of Pension Professionals and presented on the impact of the Virgin Media Ltd v NTL Pension Trustees II case for Bristol Actuarial Society’s Hot Topics in Pensions Law event.
