James is a partner in our Corporate team, focusing on corporate technology clients. Prior to joining Burges Salmon, James was General Counsel to a number of rapidly scaling technology companies, including DreamGames, PVcase and Farfetch. At these companies James led on material corporate transactions and advised the C-Suite and Board across a range of matters, distilling the complex into commercially astute advice.
James enjoys working with technology, digital and e-commerce businesses, supporting them across the full suite of corporate matters, with a particular focus on fundraising and M&A.

- DreamGames: High value buy-out of existing VC investors of DreamGames by private equity in a debt and equity transaction*
- Farfetch: US$1.15 billion in investment from Richemont and Alibaba into Farfetch China, including JV arrangements*
- Farfetch: Acquisition of New Guards Group for $675m*
- Farfetch: Acquisition of Stadium goods for US$250m*
- Farfetch: Fundraising: Series E (US$75m); Series F (US$110); and Series G (>US$300m)*
