Overview

Jessica is a partner and she specialises in contentious construction and engineering matters and has advised on a number of complex engineering and infrastructure disputes (including those involving PFI/PPP projects), particularly in the energy, waste and infrastructure sectors.

She has extensive experience advising both public and private sector clients in respect of the avoidance and/or resolution of their complex contractual or professional negligence disputes, whether by negotiation, mediation, adjudication or litigation.

Jessica was named as a 'next generation lawyer' in the 2018 and 2019 editions of Legal 500 and a ‘rising star’ in the 2021 and 2022 editions of the same directory. She is a member of the Society of Construction Law and also the Adjudication Society.

Experience
  • Acting for an unincorporated joint venture involving three major engineering contractors in respect of a multi-million pound dispute arising in respect of a nationally significant infrastructure project.
  • Advising a major renewable power generator in respect of alleged defects at its £163 million wind farm.
  • Acting on behalf of a national contractor in a series of adjudications arising in respect of a £160 million highways project.
  • Providing trouble shooting advice to an international waste to product contractor in connection with issues arising in connection with construction and operation of a £145 million Waste Treatment Centre.
  • Advising a Saudi Arabian based company in respect of its cross-jurisdictional dispute arising out of variations to its FIDIC based contract for the design and construction of military defence related infrastructure in the Middle East.
