Jessica is a partner in the Construction and Engineering team, specialising in contentious construction and engineering matters and has advised on a number of complex engineering and infrastructure disputes (including those involving PFI/PPP projects), particularly in the energy and infrastructure sectors.

She has extensive experience advising both public and private sector clients in respect of the avoidance and/or resolution of their complex contractual or professional negligence disputes, whether by negotiation, mediation, adjudication or litigation.

Jessica was listed as an up-and-coming partner in Chambers & Partners 2025. She is a member of the Society of Construction Law and also the Adjudication Society.

Experience

  • Tier 1 contractor: Advising on project delivery challenges arising from a £170 million contract relating to the upgrade of gas compressors and associated infrastructure across two power plants.
  • PPP/PFI handback: Advising on one of the first PFI projects to handback to the public sector.
  • Onshore wind: Advising a major renewable power generator in respect of alleged defects at its £163 million wind farm.
  • PLC: Defending a UK listed company with global operations in the energy, maritime transport, and defence sectors on a series of claims being pursued under various parent company guarantees.
  • Solar developer: Acting for a developer in respect of various disputes relating to the engineering, procurement and construction of a 20MW ground-mounted solar PV system.
  • Central government: Advised on the interpretation of maintenance provisions and entitlement to award deductions under its £300m PFI agreement.
