Ken is a senior associate in our Dispute Resolution team with a focus on agriculture, landed estates and private wealth. He advises institutions, landed estates and private individuals on issues around rural property, in particular disputes over ownership, tenancies, and development. Ken also advises on estate management issues, natural capital schemes and renewable energy development.
Experience
- Large landed estate: Advising regularly on strategy and disputes relating to rural property including termination of protected agricultural tenancies, enforcement of restrictive covenants, nuisance claims, and rights of repurchase.
- Pension fund with significant historic landholdings: Advising on issues relating to a large rural property portfolio including recovery of possession and disputes arising out of the sale of land.
- Government department with a large rural portfolio: Advising on issues relating to a rural property portfolio including exploitation of natural capital on tenanted land and maintaining security and control over sensitive sites.
- Solar developer: Advising on development of a large-scale, NSIP solar project on a landed estate.
- Private family office: Advising a family office on a misrepresentation claim following the purchase of rural property.
- Owners of residential development land: Advising trustees on a large residential development scheme being help up by an historic agricultural tenant.
