Overview

Laura is a senior associate in the construction and engineering team.  Her focus is on energy and infrastructure and her experience covers work for funders, developers and contractors. 

Her areas of specialism include renewable energy and battery storage projects, waste to energy and fuel, and nuclear.  She also has experience in the road, rail and water sectors.   

Laura has expertise in standard form contracts such as FIDIC, NEC and IChemE, as well as bespoke, project-specific contracts and commonly works on projects with complex and/or international aspects.  

 
Experience
  • Representing Assisting Macquarie’s Green Investment Group (GIG) with the negotiation and drafting of construction and O&M documentation for its first utility-scale grid battery in UK.
  • Assisting EDF (NNB) with the preparation and negotiation of several FIDIC-based construction packages for the £25 billion nuclear new build projects at Hinkley Point C - one of the largest infrastructure projects in Europe and the first nuclear new build in the UK in over 20 years – as well as Sizewell C.
  • Advising a developer of a UK waste to aviation fuel project on project structuring, EPC/construction contracts, O&M arrangements and interfaces with funding arrangements, etc. 
  • Advising Reactive Technologies on its pioneering NGESO inertia measurement service contract and the associated construction and operation contracts.
  • Providing support to vertical farming operator in the negotiation and drafting of construction and operation contracts for the first of a number of planned large, low-carbon indoor farms.
