Menna is an associate in the firm’s Employment team.
She has a wide range of experience advising on both contentious and non-contentious employment issues and HR matters, in particular in defending employment tribunal claims (unfair dismissal, whistle blowing and unlawful deductions from wages), drafting contracts of employment, reviewing handbooks and HR policies, advising on internal grievance processes and advising on termination including the drafting of settlement agreements.
Menna also regularly undertakes corporate support work and due diligence reporting in respect of mergers and acquisitions.
Experience
- FTSE 100 defence and security group: Providing employment law advisory service on the full range of employment matters (both via an employment law advisory service and as a secondee).
- Manufacturing company: Supporting and advising with ad hoc queries relating to TUPE, disciplinary and grievance matters and employment tribunal litigation involving discrimination, whistleblowing, unfair dismissal and breach of contract.
- Public sector organisation: Undertaking a secondment and advising on a range of employment and HR issues including grievances and disciplinaries, large-scale reorganisations, positive action and conducting policy and contractual reviews.
- Public sector client: Advising on a large-scale grading review and intra-group restructure, involving a TUPE transfer, and key legal implications and risks. Providing training on wider legal updates and best practice.
- Advising a client on a full range of employment queries including holiday entitlement and pay, conducting a full contract review and supporting with employment tribunal litigation.
