About

Rose is a Senior Associate (Professional Support Lawyer) in Real Estate. She joined Burges Salmon as a real estate lawyer in 1991.

As a client-facing lawyer, Rose worked on a wide range of transactions in different areas of real estate practice but with a particular focus on commercial lettings, and became a specialist Professional Support Lawyer in 1998. She has considerable experience in the role of professional support for the Real Estate team.

Her role encompasses planning, arranging and delivering training to the firm’s real estate lawyers and to clients. She also has experience in providing legal consultancy and practical guidance to the firm’s real estate lawyers. This includes keeping up to date with, analysing and sharing developments in real estate law and practice both internally and with clients.

She works to facilitate the sharing of knowledge within Real Estate and the wider firm, as well as monitoring and reviewing emerging legal technology solutions.

Rose is a member of the Property Support Lawyers Group, the Law Society Property Section and is an accredited Conveyancing Quality Scheme lawyer.

Experience

  • Business improvement: member of firm project teams to introduce electronic signing software and to draft and implement the firm’s management policies to attain UKAS-accredited certifications for ISO 9001, 27001 and 22301.
  • Technical guidance and change management: Piloting the real estate team through major legal changes such as the Land Registration reforms and the introduction of SDLT and the introduction of new working practices to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Legal consultancy: Technical legal consultancy and practical guidance to client-facing lawyers on specific transactions.
  • Thought leadership: Drafting the firms responding to government consultations, client newsletters and briefings.
  • Legal technology: Trialling and implementing AI and other technology solutions including document automation, reporting on title and contract analysis software.
  • Knowledge Dissemination: core team member dealing with design, implementation and roll-out of the firm’s legal knowledge platform.
