Associate
Ross is an associate in the Pensions and Lifetime Savings team. He has gained wide experience in advising trustees and employers of pension schemes on a broad range of issues and pensions law including in relation to the administration and interpretation of scheme documentation, scheme governance, equalisation, GMP, Virgin Media and section 37, de-risking exercises, pensions insolvency considerations, and pensions aspects involved in mergers and acquisitions.
Ross joined Burges Salmon from a global law firm where he was an integral member of their pensions team. He studied Law at the University of Glasgow where he also undertook the Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Legal Practice. He also holds a Masters of Music in Vocal Performance from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
Ross can advise in relation to both defined contribution and defined benefit pension schemes with a focus on providing commercially practicable and accessible advice to clients to help achieve their desired outcomes.
He is a full member of the Association of Pensions Lawyers.
