Tom is a director in our Banking team, specialising in real estate finance.
He joined Burges Salmon in April 2023 and has considerable experience acting for both lenders and borrowers on a wide range of complex real estate finance matters. He regularly advises clients such as banks, debt funds and real estate investment funds on investment and development transactions across a variety of asset classes including office, retail and residential (including PRS).
Tom has also undertaken in-house secondments to the corporate real estate departments of both HSBC Bank plc and Lloyds Banking Group.
Experience
- Major bank: Advising in connection with the £60 million refinancing of a prime central London office and retail asset and the £17 million financing of the acquisition of a prime office asset in the City of London by a high profile real estate investment firm.
- Debt fund: Advising a leading real estate debt fund on a £75 million accordion loan facility secured against an affordable housing portfolio.
- Alternative real estate lender: Advising on several matters for a key alternative lender in the real estate space, including the £23 million refinancing of two PBSA assets in London.
- PBSA provider: Acting for the owner of a large PBSA asset in connection with their refinancing with a major clearing bank.
- Alternative lender: Acting for an alternative lender in producing a standard suite of LMA based documentation for use on real estate investment transactions.
