Victoria is a senior associate within the firm’s Employment team.
She has particular experience in defending complex Employment Tribunal claims including drafting pleadings; preparing merits assessments; advocacy at preliminary hearings and judicial mediation; interviewing witnesses and drafting witness statements; making applications to the Employment Tribunal (including successful applications for strike out, deposit order, costs); preparing instructions to counsel; dealing with applications to the Employment Appeal Tribunal; and advising on strategy and conducting settlement negotiations.
Victoria advises private and public sector clients on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment and HR issues. She is experienced in advising on the whole employment lifecycle, including disciplinary matters; grievance and appeal processes; long term sickness issues; drafting contractual documentation and policies; advising on redundancy programmes; and advising on and negotiating senior exits.
She has in-house commercial experience from secondments at the John Lewis Partnership and BAE Systems plc, and regularly delivers bespoke training and workshops for clients on employment law.
Victoria is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.
Experience
- John Lewis Partnership: Managing the delivery of an employment tribunal service for John Lewis Partnership staffed by a team of lawyers with tribunals in numerous locations, maximising the efficiency of service delivery without compromising on quality.
- John Lewis Partnership: Supporting John Lewis Partnership on a range of day-to-day employment law matters via an employment helpline. Victoria also provides training to the in-house legal team on legal updates.
- Spire Healthcare Limited: Advising on a range of employment issues, and acting on their behalf to defend complex employment tribunal claims.
- BAE Systems: Providing advice on the full range of employment matters, including via a secondment, as well as supporting with Employment Tribunal litigation, including representing the client at preliminary hearings.
- NHS: Advising an NHS Commissioning Group in connection with litigation, TUPE transfers, relocating employees and general HR issues.
- Private bank: Advising in relation to the sale of its trusts business, including advising on the pre-sale hive down of the business as part of a TUPE transfer, as well as drafting employee communications for the information and consultation process.
