Will is a partner in the firm’s award-winning Infrastructure team, and has specialised since 2005 in the Energy and Utilities sector. He has particular expertise in advising on the numerous real estate issues which are faced by clients developing, investing in and funding Energy and Utilities projects.

Experience

  • Property agreements: Having advised on property agreements for renewable energy projects since 2005, Will has market-leading experience in all property issues relating to solar, onshore and offshore wind, AD, biomass, BESS, hydro, gas peaker and EfW projects.
  • Developers: Advising numerous developers of renewable energy projects (including Anesco, bp, EnBW, Orron, Telis, Vattenfall, Trydan (Welsh Government) and Equinor) across all technologies on the property arrangements for their developments.
  • Investment funds and renewable energy companies: Advising companies including Bluefield, Greencoat, Downing and Octopus on the acquisition, financing and disposal of renewable energy assets and on the legal asset management of their portfolios.
  • Major infrastructure projects: Leading teams securing all land rights required for major infrastructure projects including offshore windfarms, electricity grid connections and CCS pipelines. Innovative approaches and technological solutions are key to delivery of these projects.
  • Structuring arrangements: Working on innovative structuring arrangements enabling the deployment of rooftop solar installations and on-site energy centres.
