Independent UK law firm Burges Salmon has advised Paris-based ENGIE New Ventures on its secondary sale of shares in Vyntelligence alongside a primary funding round in which the London-based agentic video intelligence platform raised $30 million (£23 million) from leading growth investors including Morgan Stanley Investment Management’s 1GT climate private equity fund and Blume Equity.

ENGIE New Ventures is proactively targeting secondary sales for a portion of its portfolio as part of its ongoing investment strategy. Fully aligned with its business model, the approach allows the corporate venture capital arm to realise returns on successful investments whilst maintaining strategic partnerships with these startups and reinvesting capital into new opportunities aligned with ENGIE’s energy transition and innovation objectives to create strategic returns.

The Burges Salmon team advising ENGIE New Ventures on the secondary transaction was led by partner Alex Lloyd and solicitor Shaaf Alam from the firm’s Corporate and M&A team.

We were delighted to work with Burges Salmon on this important transaction. Alex and Shaaf provided excellent strategic advice throughout the process, demonstrating a deep understanding of the venture capital landscape and the complexities of secondary transactions. Their commercial approach and ability to navigate the transaction efficiently ensured a smooth outcome for ENGIE New Ventures. We look forward to working with the team again in the future.”
