The pensions dashboards connection deadline of 31 October 2026 is now less than 6 months away and over three quarters of all records are now connected to the central digital architecture. The second phase of consumer testing for the MoneyHelper Pensions Dashboard is well underway.
The Society of Pension Professionals recently polled webinar attendees over their dashboard implementation concerns, with the capacity to deal with volume of queries cited as the biggest concern. However, recent research from KPMG has revealed that 80% of adults have not heard of pensions dashboards, with those closest to retirement having the lowest awareness.
In a recent blog TPR has urged schemes to keep up dashboards momentum, focus on value data and embrace the opportunities to learn from user testing. TPR’s market oversight report highlights that many schemes are still improving the quality of their data used to identify dashboard users and that significant work is still required in relation to value data.
TPR has also updated its dashboards guidance, highlighting good practice and providing further clarity on areas TPR is often asked about. TPR now also operates two checklists for schemes – one for schemes that have already connected, and one for schemes still to connect.
The Pensions Management Institute has also released its own guidance on dashboards, highlighting practical steps for pension schemes to meet the 31 October 2026 connection deadline. This guidance highlights data readiness, matching accuracy, and governance as items of importance.
The PDP has published a blog covering progress and setting out information in relation to connection and has updated its data protection impact assessment (DPIA), reflecting technical service developments.
We have designed some helpful products to assist schemes and their sponsors who are navigating the complexities of dashboards connections.
Our pensions dashboards tool is a user-friendly resource designed to digest and summarise the relevant legal requirements, whilst the dashboards checklist sets out the essential steps trustees need to take to ensure compliance.
