The third connect by deadline in the staged timetable for connection was on 30 June and a number of providers and administrators have announced their connections. There is a month off in July with the next cohort of schemes due to connect by 31 August.
The Pensions Regulator (TPR) recently made some updates to its pensions dashboards guidance in order to provide greater clarity and support for schemes including:
The Pensions Dashboards Programme (PDP) made some clarifications to its data protection impact assessment (DPIA) which was published in May. This DPIA covers the processing of personal data by MaPS to deliver the central digital architecture and the connection of schemes and pension providers to it. It does not cover the provision of the MoneyHelper dashboard (MaPS’ other dashboard function) – this will be covered in a separate DPIA. Parties connecting to the dashboards ecosystem have their own separate obligations under data protection law and should ensure they understand their responsibilities in relation to data protection and DPIAs.
Finally, it is proposed that Pension Protection Fund and Financial Assistance Scheme information be made available for display on pensions dashboards, with draft provisions included in clause 96 of the Pension Schemes Bill.
Many schemes are now well underway with preparations for connection to the dashboards ecosystem. If you would like any advice or assistance with dashboards compliance, we are very well placed to help.
