We have advised German-headquartered Fiege Group, one of Europe’s leading logistics providers, on securing a new lease at the DC2 facility at Prologis Park Hams Hall. The transaction marks Fiege’s entry into the UK market with a strategically located logistics asset designed to optimise cross-border flows, shorten delivery times and reduce transport miles.
Situated at the heart of the UK motorway network, just 10 miles from Birmingham city centre, the 261,147 sq. ft high-quality space benefits from an on-site intermodal rail freight terminal linking directly to major seaports and the Channel Tunnel. This connectivity enables Fiege to strengthen its European fulfilment network and meet growing UK demand for e-commerce services. The site also offers scalability to support future growth in one of the UK’s most competitive logistics markets.
Our Built Environment sector group advised on the deal, led by partner Will Hall, director Alexandra Clayton and associate Richard Watkins from the firm’s Real Estate team, with associate Amy McPherson advising on construction matters.
“We are delighted to have supported Fiege Group on this landmark transaction as it establishes its first UK logistics hub. Doing business in the UK for the first time is as exciting as it is complex and we are perfectly placed to advise our overseas clients targeting the UK to support their growth.”
Will Hall, Partner
“Opening our first UK site was a milestone for Fiege. The quality and readiness of Hams Hall made it the right choice for our expansion, allowing us to support our customers with a modern and highly efficient operation. We greatly valued the support from Burges Salmon throughout this process. The team’s understanding of the UK logistics market and ability to navigate legal complexities gave us confidence at every stage.”
Kristian Loepert, Director Asset Management at Fiege
