Burges Salmon advises the shareholders of Balance Power Projects Limited on disposal to InfraVia Capital Partners

We have advised the shareholders of Balance Power Projects Limited on the purchase of the business by InfraVia Capital Partners (“Infravia”).

Balance Power Projects Limited (“Balance”) is a UK‑based developer specialising in the development of battery energy storage projects. With a proven track record of 39 projects successfully delivered and a development pipeline exceeding 1.4GW of battery storage capacity, Balance is a leading developer in the UK energy storage sector.

As part of the transaction, InfraVia also acquired a majority stake in Mercia Power Response (“Mercia”). InfraVia will combine Balance and Mercia into a new entity, Supernova Power, creating an integrated storage and flexible power platform supporting the UK energy system and accelerating the energy transition. The combined platform brings together two complementary businesses with strong development pipelines and operational capabilities.

The transaction required a coordinated, multi‑disciplinary team and close collaboration across our Bristol, London and Edinburgh offices. Teams from Corporate, Real Estate (English and Scottish), Banking (English and Scottish), Employment and Tax worked together to support the shareholders of Balance throughout the process.
