Running an Effective Workplace Investigation

  • Event location Bristol & London

With workplace investigations becoming increasingly common for many employers, we are pleased to be hosting an in-person panel session on Running an Effective Workplace Investigation at both our Bristol and London offices. This event will also run later in the year in our Edinburgh office.

This interactive session is designed to provide you with an overview of how to conduct an effective workplace investigation. You’ll also hear from our team on how to tackle some of the more challenging issues you might encounter. Additionally, there will be time for you to share experiences and insights with fellow HR and in-house employment law professionals.

What to expect

We will begin with a brief walk-through of the key steps to managing a successful investigation, ensuring you are well-equipped to run an investigation or advise managers on what’s required.

Our panel will then delve into how to approach some of the trickier issues that can arise, including:

  • What to do where an employee is involved in misconduct outside of work, which may have implications for you as an employer
  • How to manage an investigation where the police may be involved
  • Deciding the outcome of an investigation where the evidence boils down to one person’s word against another’s.

Open floor discussion

The final part of the session will be reserved for you to share experiences and practical tips with your fellow guests, as well as to ask the panel any remaining questions you might have.

We are happy to answer questions on the day, but if you have a question you would like to send us in advance to put to the panel, please email [email protected].
