03 September 2020

There has been some respite over Summer to allow us all to catch our breath after a momentous few months of change and development in pensions law and regulatory guidance in the last quarter. Our focus in this newsletter moves over the pensions implications of the Corporate Insolvency and Governance Act 2020, the Pension Schemes Bill and the key cases of Safeway v Newton, Univar v Smith, Box Clever and McCloud. Our more routine – but important governance - topics comprise the tax treatment of GMP adjustments for equalisation, data protection and cyber security, with a look also at the upcoming changes around statements of investment principles and implementation statements.

Please do let us know if you have any questions or thoughts on this quarter’s newsletter you would like to share with us.
