Overview

Olivia is an associate in the technology and communications team. She joined the team on qualification, having trained with the firm. Olivia regularly advises on data protection, cyber security, technology and commercial matters for clients in a wide range of sectors, including technology, energy, and the public sector. She is also involved in the development of legal solutions for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (including driverless cars).

Olivia has completed legal secondments at both Renishaw PLC and Virgin Management Limited. She is a member of the Society for Computers and Law, and is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E).

 

Experience
  • Advising a confidential client on import requirements in relation to the proposed provision of WAN services in the UK.
  • Regularly supporting FirstGroup plc on a broad range of data protection issues from subject access requests to the provision of data to regulatory authorities.
  • Advising clients across multiple sectors (including technology, retail, utilities, financial services, insurance, manufacturing, education, real estate and charities) on GDPR and privacy compliance issues, including data sharing and processing arrangements, international transfers of data, responding to urgent data breach and cybersecurity incidents, ICO enforcement actions, e-privacy and electronic marketing issues, as well as data protection issues arising from Brexit.
  • Advising a national private healthcare provider on the procurement of managed IT services from a multi-national vendor.
  • Contributing to the firm’s Capri legal report on the use of automated pods in dual-mode.
  • Advising customers and suppliers on software, data and technology licensing arrangements. 
  • Advising a scale-up providing electric vehicle charging infrastructure services on its customer-facing terms and conditions, its privacy information and on its third party arrangements with energy suppliers and installation providers.
  • Advising the Bank of England in relation to key technology licensing matters.
