Suzanna Harvey Partner

Suzanna is the firm’s Head of Private Wealth. She is a private client partner, specialising in tax, trusts, immigration and estate planning for international clients (both UK resident and non-resident). 

Suzanna provides tax advice to a wide range of clients, from high net worth individuals to leading private banks and other financial institutions. She regularly advises clients considering moving to the UK on their immigration options, the impact of the UK's statutory residence test and pre-residence tax planning. She has wide-ranging experience of advising non-UK domiciliaries on the income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax implications of UK residence.

Suzanna provides trust advice to numerous international trust companies and individuals, including drafting trust documentation, advising on general trust law issues and advising on policy documentation.

Suzanna regularly speaks at conferences and seminars both in the UK and overseas.

• Advising a variety of clients on the changes to the UK tax treatment of UK residential property held within offshore structures and on the available restructuring options.
• Establishing offshore trust structures for numerous clients prior to the clients becoming deemed domiciled in the UK, including advising on associated issues such as the UK tax treatment of carried interest in private equity funds.
• Advising non-UK resident families and individuals on their immigration options and on the creation of suitable asset holding structures prior to their moves to the UK, taking into account the issues arising from wider family's residence in multiple jurisdictions.
• Advising a number of ultra high net worth clients on HMRC enquiries into their UK tax positions, including responding to queries on structures containing over £100 million of assets.
• Undertaking an audit of approximately 20 structures acquired by a leading Jersey trust company on its acquisition of a competitor's business to assess likely risk areas, including reviewing the nature of the structures, the source of funds and other compliance requirements.
