Thomas is a solicitor in the firm’s Banking and Finance team with experience representing lenders, borrowers, sponsors, and commercial clients in a broad range of domestic, cross-border and multi-jurisdictional finance transactions.
He has a broad range of experience advising on project finance, corporate finance and acquisition finance transactions. He regularly works with, and organises multi-disciplinary teams and coordinates inter-departmental delivery on complex commercial projects.
As part of his undergraduate studies, Thomas spent 12 months at EDF Energy working as part of Hinkley Point C’s Nuclear New Build legal team, where he provided transactional support and advice on a wide variety of nuclear build contracts.
Experience
- Gravis Capital: Advised Gravis Capital on its financing and equity contribution of SolarCatcher – a UK based EV charging solution. It was awarded EV Financing of the year (Electric Vehicle Innovation & Excellence Awards).
- Santander, Rabobank and Triple Point: Acted for Rabobank, Santander and Triple Point as lenders’ counsel on their combined financing of up to £70 million to support the development and construction of a 100MW battery energy storage plant in North Yorkshire, owned by clean energy enterprise TagEnergy.
- The Facility for Energy Inclusion (FEI): Advised FEI on its first solar mini-grid portfolio financing located in Zambia.
- UK energy provider: Advised a keystone UK energy provider on the financing documentation of the reorganisation of its fibre-network business. Drafted intra-group loan facilities totalling £9.8 billion.
- Mobico Group PLC: Acted for Mobico Group PLC as borrower in relation to the refinancing of its revolving credit facility, which increased the facility size to £600 million.
- Finance in Motion: Advised EU-backed investment fund manager on numerous social impact infrastructure and energy financing transactions in Ukraine, Kosovo, Georgia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Tanzania and Kenya.
